Easy Read Clock for Primary Schools, Secondary Schools & Homes

The SHER Easy Read Clock has been designed to make telling the time simpler and more intuitive for children and teenagers, while still looking like a modern, everyday wall clock.

Rather than being a teaching aid that is brought out for a lesson and then put away, the Easy Read Clock is designed to become the permanent clock in the classroom. It simply sits on the wall and does its job, but every time a pupil looks up to check the time, they are also reinforcing their understanding of how an analogue clock works.

Suitable for primary schools, secondary schools and the home, its carefully considered layout makes analogue time easier to understand without looking childish or out of place in an older classroom.

Learning through everyday use

The idea behind the Easy Read Clock is simple: children learn by doing.

Every time they want to know the time, they look at the same clock. The easier-to-read layout helps them work it out independently, and that process is repeated naturally throughout the day.

The hours are offset and segmented, clearly showing where each hour starts and ends. This makes it easier to identify which hour the hour hand is actually pointing towards.

Around the outside of the dial is a full 60-minute track, allowing the minute hand to point directly towards the number of minutes past the hour.

Put simply, you can look at the number each hand is pointing towards and read the time.

For example, when the minute hand points towards 40, the clock shows 40 directly, rather than requiring a child to remember that the number 8 on a traditional clock represents 40 minutes.

With daily repetition, those hand positions gradually become familiar. Children begin to understand what they represent and, over time, become less reliant on the additional markings.

The aim isn't to create a different way of telling the time. It is to help children build the confidence and familiarity they need to read any traditional analogue clock or watch.

A permanent classroom clock, not a temporary teaching tool

Many educational clocks are designed specifically for younger children and can feel out of place once pupils move beyond the early stages of learning to tell the time.

The SHER Easy Read Clock takes a different approach.

Its additional information is incorporated into a clean, modern clock face, making it appropriate as the everyday wall clock in a classroom rather than something that feels like a separate learning resource.

That means the same clock can be used throughout a child's education, from primary school into secondary school.

This is particularly valuable for older pupils who understand the principle of analogue time but still have to stop and think when reading a traditional clock. Having an Easy Read Clock permanently visible provides repeated practice without requiring a formal lesson.

Every glance at the clock becomes a small opportunity to learn.

Designed for primary and secondary schools

Learning to tell the time is often associated with younger children, but confidently reading an analogue clock remains relevant well beyond primary school.

Young people increasingly see the time on phones, computers and other digital displays, meaning they may have fewer opportunities to practise reading analogue time during everyday life.

Placing Easy Read Clocks throughout a school creates those opportunities naturally.

Rather than replacing analogue clocks with digital displays, pupils continue to see and use analogue time every day, but in a format that makes the relationship between the hands and the numbers easier to understand.

Clear enough to learn from. Designed to stay on the wall.

At 14 inches, the Easy Read Clock is large enough to be clearly visible across a classroom while remaining a practical size for bedrooms, kitchens, playrooms and other spaces at home.

Its clean design means it provides genuine educational benefits without making a classroom feel like it is filled with teaching equipment.
